I really had a blast watching Going Overboard. The movie was amazing and starred both of my favorite actors Peter Berg & Adam Sandler. The star power and the chemistry between Peter Berg and Adam Sandler made Going Overboard not only watchable and believeable, but a must see!
At the beginning of this no-budget cheapie, Adam Sandler tells us this is a "loosely thrown together story" built around free access to a cruise ship and "a lot of good-looking women." So they get an A for truth in advertising. Sandler (very green in his first feature film) plays Shecky Moskowitz, a cruise ship waiter with dreams of being a standup comedian. At one point, General Manuel Noriega sends some goons to take over the ship. And there's a lot of voluptuous women hanging around in bikinis. So much for the plot. Sold as a wacky sex comedy, Going Overboard is more of a funny-nose-and-glasses movie, desperately trying anything for a laugh. Sandler's trademark being-funny-by-being-unfunny hadn't started to click yet. Only Billy Zane (as a sort of long-suffering-Jewish-grandmother-ish King Neptune) and Adam Rifkin (as a self-absorbed, mossy-toothed heavy metal star) seem to have any comic timing. A number of the supporting cast would go on to play roles in other, better Adam Sandler movies. Look fast for Billy Bob Thornton(!), appearing here as "Dave the heckler." --Geof Miller
The cast of Going Overboard is: Peter Berg, Adam Sandler, Billy Bob Thornton, Burt Young, Billy Zane
I really loved watching The Love! Not only was it a great movie but had two of my favorite actors in it, Lili Darvas and Mari Trcsik. Lili Darvas and Mari Trcsik looked liked they really enjoyed making The Love. Their chemistry was so amazing! I have left some images, links, and ebay auctions for The Love below.
Karoly Makk's LOVE stands as one of the most honored and emotionally searing films of the 70's. Legendary Hungarian actress Lili Darvas and co-star Mari Torocsik team up for an acting tour de force that found critics searching for superlatives. After her husband's political arrest forces a young wife to care for her dying mother-in-law, the two women search through their anger and frustrations for hope, joy - and love. Critics unanimously acclaimed LOVE as one of the best films of 1973.
The wonderful cast includes Lili Darvas, Mari Trcsik, Ivn Darvas, Erzsi Orsolya, Lszl Mensros.
If you are a big fan of Lili Darvas or Mari Trcsik then you will really want to watch The Love!
